Illegal Drugs Discovered by Paisley PoliceTwo street incidents in Barrhead resulted in the confiscation of nearly a thousand illegal diazepam tablets by the Paisley police force. These tablets were found on the persons of a man and a woman in these separate incidents several days apart. Paisley Escorts are glad these drugs are off the streets as hopefully it will make a difference, and other drug suppliers might take heed.
On the afternoon of Friday July 22 a woman in her early 30s was found with more than 400 diazepam tablets on her person when officers conducted a stop and search whilst she was walking on Main Street, Barrhead. A few days later on Monday July 25 in the early hours of the morning, police investigated a disturbance in Rockmount Avenue, Barrhead and found over 500 more diazepam on the person of a man involved in the disturbance.
The value of these tablets if sold on the street has yet to be revealed by police. Diazepam is better known as Valium which is a prescription drug that can be taken recreationally.
Both the man and woman are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court and have been told to expect to be charged with drug-related offences. It has been reported that this event occurred merely weeks after a £35,000 stash of cannabis plants was discovered in an apartment on the town’s Main Street. The cannabis plants were only found due to there being a water leak from the flat in question into a shop below it. Only a few days later, more cannabis plants worth £12,000 were seized by police.
This whole incident has been welcomed by both the police force and members of the local community who see the removal of illegal drugs on the streets as a precursor to reducing crime in general.
