Concerns for new season as Rangers lose again

Fans of Glasgow Rangers have expressed concern lately that the club desperately needs to sign new players if it is to be competitive in the new season. Rangers lost their most recent pre-season friendly 3-0 to German club Bochum, and are still winless under new boss Ally McCoist. Many Glasgow escorts follow the club are said to be unhappy at the lack of activity in the transfer market and fear for the season ahead.

This most recent defeat comes only a few days after they lost to the virtually unheard of Sportfreunde Lotte, a German club playing in the fourth division of German football. The on-looking director of football, Gordon Smith, cannot have been impressed with what he saw during either 90 minutes.

McCoist and Smith have been in conversation recently about bringing in new players ahead of the first Premier league match of the season on July 23. It is believed that McCoist is desperate to bring in new faces to create a stronger overall squad to choose from.

Rangers have made one signing this summer with the free transfer capture of Spaniard Juan Manuel Ortiz. Another better-known Spanish footballer Rangers were hoping to bring in is Carlos Cuellar of Aston Villa. The experienced centre back has played for Glasgow Rangers previously and would be a welcome addition, but this transfer seems to be less and less likely.

During the most recent friendly, Rangers were always on the back foot with Allan McGregor needing to make a save in the opening moments. More shots were peppered at the Glasgow goal for the entire first half, but surprisingly it was 0-0 at half-time. Goals followed in the second half however, with Daniel Ginczek, Mirkan Aydin and Ginczek again finding the back of the net.

Rangers fans can only hope for better from now on.
