Country village brothel owner wins court case

Saturdays Guardian ran a story about an escort who was taken to court for operating an incall/massage parlour operation from her home (similar to the case involving the Clydebank escort agency two years ago). For security reasons she did not want to work by herself so she allowed a few of her friends who also work as part time escorts and massage parlour girls to operate from her house.

Now where not talking about a dodgy operation that smuggles ladies into the UK from Eastern Europe/Asia then forces them to work as sex slaves, quite the contrary the English lady in question and her females associates are all highly respectable members of a rural community who first introduced themselves to their neighbours and told them what their occupation was and what they would be doing during business hours. Ironically the neighbours many of them are elderly people were happy for the business to operate.

It makes me wonder what on earth the local authorities thought they would achieve by arresting a respectable member of a rural community and then proceeding to drag her through the courts which “costs us law abiding tax payers quite a lot of money” only to loose the court case because the jury showed common sense and found the lady not guilty of the charge of brothel keeping.

Reading this story was like a breath of fresh air, to hear that the jury fully empathised with the owner of the massage parlour and understood that if, she had followed the current legislation concerning escorts and massage parlours to the letter of the law she would be making herself more vulnerable to being assaulted by a fake punter.  

The current UK law states that, it is legal for one woman over the age of 18 to sell sexual services from residential premises but, it is illegal for two or more women to sell sex, the latter is defined as a brothel!

This reminds me of the current situation we are facing in Glasgow, to the South West we have the Paisley escorts, to the North West of Glasgow are the Clydebank escort agency girls, to the East are the Coatbridge massage parlours and in the South East are the Motherwell escorts, and what is the one thing we all have in common?  

Simple we all want the law to change so that Scottish escorts can have more protection from nutters who pose as punters. If the law would allow escorts in Scotland to work with at least 4 working girls in a flat the level of assaults against incall escorts would drop exponentially!
